Between 2010 and 2011, the facade of the former St. John of God church in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood was removed so that it could be used in the construction of a new suburban church. Once the facade removal was complete the rest of the original structure, including the ornament and paintings inside the church, was demolished. I managed to get a few shots before it all disappeared.
